Wi-Fi Security Best Practices.

Today I decided to write a few words about an article found on Gartner which refers to Wi-Fi security best practices. It gives us an answer to the following question: ‘Are Wi-Fi systems still vulnerable?’.

Due to some progress made by Wi-Fi security standards through past years it is now possible to set and maintain strong WLAN. Vulnerabilities although cannot be ignored. This is why this article gives some information about overall planning and describes features of well–configured access point and client system.

I won’t repeat contents of the article here but it’s worth mentioning that it emphasizes many aspects of configuration and if anybody is interested, can find information on for example why Wireless and wired NICs should not be allowed to be active at the same time on a client system or why the use of pre-shared keys (PSKs) in WPA or WPA2 should be avoided.
