In this article Gartner desrcibes dualistic approach to it's research agenda for the near future.
Two different perspectives are mentioned. Project oriented perspective is about focusing on two key projects that most clients either are, or should be. Key issue perspective aims to provide potential answers to selected key that relate to two projects mentioned earlier.
We can also find out that being aware of, understanding and measuring levels of workplace performance is not enough. Companies should determine goals and after that - develop an intelligent strategy and continuously execute procedures, monitor performance and adjust changes.
Gartner's specific coverage areas defined in the text are: e-mail, real-time collaboration, predictive analytics and productivity tools.
It is important to know that research agenda cannot be complete without a special section connected with collecting, analyzing and publishing best practices. Moreover, it cannot be denied that performance management and tactical advice on fundamentals is also crucial for most of clients.
What is more, Gartner is going to publish a Gartner Workplace Maturity Model this year and is working working on detailed quantitative research covering usage of Enterprise 2.0 workplace technologies and Web 2.0 technologies.
