This is my attempt to write a few words about article about the transfer of best practices.
It's definetely too long to describe each paragraph, so I'll try to give you
a set of condensed information;)
The article starts with a kind of summary which tells us that transfer of best practices
is one of the more neglected/forgotten approaches when it comes to Knowledge Management, but
the most rewarding. There also is some statistical data which gives us a view of how the
situation looked like in 2003.
Article has been divided into chapters, which desrcibe for example The Transfer of Best
Practices, Making the Business Case or Measuring the Transfer Process. Some chapters include
subsections. Different useful terms are clearly explained. While reading you shouldn't have problem
with understanding content because some data is also illustrated by charts and tables.
What is more, features of different companies' best practices processes are included. They are
connected with three models of transfer that are described (and these are: Create, Validate and Disseminate Model,
Site-To-Site Transfer Using Networks and Cops Model and Self-Assesment Transfer Process Model). Those are real life examples, so they are the best possible illustration of what had been done in cases of specific companies. Chapters also include summaries that give some general view and gather the most important information in one place.
My aim was to encourage you to read this long article. I would also like to invite you to leave comments to this entry and share some opinions/information that would be useful for us.
